Cracked wheat balls stuffed with sautéed ground beef and herbs. Icli Kofte shell is made out of bulgur (cracked wheat), while the inside is filled with a mixture of ground beef, walnuts, onion, pepper, and spices.
The tricky thing about Icli Kofte is the preparation. The shell should be thin yet it should hold the entire filling. It might take up to 3 hours just to prepare it from scratch. In Turkey, Icli Kofte can be either boiled and served with tomato sauce or fried and served with some lemon juice.
